Improved life of circular saws used in primary wood processing

چکیده

The effects of the Engineered Micro-Geometry (EMG) carbide teeth circular saws on their wear rate and resulting sawing variation for 2-time intervals were studied. objective was to improve resistance used during primary transformation wood. tests carried out under industrial production conditions with two series saws; 1- up-sharp tips, 2- cutting edges honed adopt a waterfall geometry. duration 255 min 645 min. Wood studs sampled measure variation. Recession rake clearance faces tips as well width land measured. mechanisms both types Chipping cracking dominant observed tips. Saws hone showed remarkably reduced chipping cracking. Wear latter notably lower than that at periods sawing. Between-stud, within-stud, total variations decreased when modified used.

securitization of mortality risks in life annuities

insurers have in the past few decades faced longevity risks - the risk that annuitants survive more than expected - and therefore need a new approach to manage this new risk. in this dissertation we survey methods that hedge longevity risks. these methods use securitization to manage risk, so using modern financial and insurance pricing models, especially wang transform and actuarial concepts, ...

Identification of critical speeds of clamped circular saws *

This paper presents a simple experimental methodology of determination of critical rotational speeds of circular saw blades. Both producers and users should be interested in getting information on the actual values of critical (permissible) speeds because very often rotational speeds recommended by producers (sometimes also marked on saw blades) are larger than the values obtained experimentally.

Improved Estimates of Kinematic Wave Parameters for Circular Channels

The momentum equation in the kinematic wave model is a power-law equation with two parameters. These parameters, which relate the discharge to the flow area, are commonly derived using Manning’s equation. In general, the values of these parameters depend on the flow depth except for some special cross sections. In this paper, improved estimates of the kinematic wave parameters for circular chan...
